{Milestone Cards} + A Six Month Update

*This is a sponsored post by Milestone. All opinions are my own.

It’s no secret that I love to keep track of my baby’s monthly growth and development. Even now, as I type this my blue-eyed beauty is moving her left hand every which way, while staring in amazement. It’s something she has been doing for months now, but each time is like the first for her.

As a busy mom of two, I tend to capture a majority of those major milestones using my camera phone. At the end of the month you can find me scrolling through the photos on my iPhone, in effort to remember why I took each one. Unfortunately, it’s not the most effective system.

Milestone Cards

This idea of capturing baby’s major milestones came from Gemma Broekhuis. She was a mother on a mission, determined to capture her sons first year. She wrote his milestones down on makeshift cards and photographed her son with each one. By using photographs, Gemma realized how easy it was to grasp these moments. She also knew how easy it would be to forget. So, she set out to make her idea into a reality for parents around the world. In May of 2012, the first sets of Baby Cards by Milestone¬†were ready. Now her cards are available to parents across the globe, spanning 40 countries and in 22 languages.

These cards are revolutionary in my efforts to give baby #2 a detailed record of her beginnings. Every parent knows it is always the first child who has the most detailed record of their childhood. Not because they are loved more, but because life seems to get busier and busier. So instead of spending time writing moments down, you just live in them. Unfortunately, we do tend to forget the current moments as time marches on to create new ones.

This is why I feel these Baby Cards by Milestone are revolutionary! These cards are so much more than a month to month update. While cards for months 1-12 are included. This box of 30 cards offers photo opportunities for several major milestones, from the first time baby rolled over, to first food, the first time baby stood, and everything in between. It’s all laid out for you. Just date the card at the bottom and your baby it ready for a quick photo op. No more scrolling through your iPhone trying to remember why you took that photo!

So whether your expecting your first or your fifth baby, consider these cards an important aspect for capturing his/her first year.

How do you capture your baby’s first year? I would love to hear all about it!?

Baby Girl – {Sixth Month Update}

  • January 13th was the first time I dressed you and big sister in matching outfits. You both wore a puppy dog sweater dress with matching leggings and socks.
  • January 19th was your first baby story time experience at the library. We stayed for both sessions and you fell asleep during the second.
  • You have found your voice! The second week of January you began screaming while on your play mat one evening.
  • You are pushing yourself up with your hands when you are on your tummy.
  • January 29th, I dressed you both alike for a second time. Matching puppy dog sweaters, heart leggings, and socks.
  • One of my favorite moments from the last few months is when you are sitting on my lap, facing me, with your little hands touch my face and you have a big smile as I coax you to say mama! I just know you will eventually say it first! ūüôā
  • You love to grab toys I hold in front of you. You have been doing that since Christmas!
  • You roll over to reach for toys in close proximity to you!

*This is a sponsored posted by Smallwood Home. All opinions are my own.*

I love being a girl mama, especially when it comes to dressing them! There is nothing better than donning them in frilly dresses and elaborate hair accessories. So when I was presented with the opportunity to review dresses from SweetHoney Clothing, I practically jumped at the chance!

I love companies created by parents for parents! Josh and Holly Smallwood, the creators of Smallwood Home, are some of those amazing parents! It was their love for God and family that gave life to this little dream of theirs. On love and faith they worked side by side, making this little dream flourish into a successful business.

A business that creates all kinds of amazing goodies; everything from home decor, to clothing, and accessories. Smallwood Home has something for everyone! For me, that something is,

{SweetHoney Clothing}

Why do I love their clothing, you ask!?

Beauty

My oldest proclaimed that her dress was a “princess dress” the second she put it on and I couldn’t agree more! The carefully chosen dress patterns have a sweet and simplistic vintage feel to them. The attention to detail – such as; the trim added to the bottom of each ruffle and around the collar, gives each dress that added frilly touch!

Quality

While the dresses do have a delicate feel to them, it is easy to see that quality was at the forefront when it came to constructing these beauties! Quality was put to the test as my preschooler moved full speed ahead throughout the day. With the delicate feel of the dress I was more than a little nervous it would rip before the day was through. On the contrary! The dress has not only held up through multiple wears, but it is still in pristine condition! SweetHoney Clothing really knows how to make quality items for our busy little bees!

Comfort & Fit

No one understands comfort more than a toddler. That’s why I feel her initial reaction most accurately depicts the comfort level of the dress.

“Mommy it’s not itchy. Oh it’s soft and cozy! It’s my princess dress!”

As any parent knows, you can’t argue with the logic of a toddler. Especially when it comes to clothing or you will never leave the house!

My oldest is wearing a size 3T Whim & Wander Tiny Dancer in Scarlet. She has always been petite. Her age has always corresponded with her size of clothing. So, the 3T fits perfectly!

My 3 month old infant on the other hand is currently in 90% for height and weight. She is currently in a size 6m for clothing. Unfortunately that size was unavailable, so I hoped the 12m in Whim & Wander Juliet in Scarlet would fit. I was nervous it would be too big around the collar and under the arms. But to my surprise, it fit perfectly, with plenty of room to grow!

Twirl Factor

For my daughter, this is by far the most important aspect of any good dress! Luckily, for her, SweetHoney Clothing created this dress with the perfect amount of twirl!

{Evenflo Feeding} : Advanced Double Electric Breast Pump

dsc_0509*This is a sponsored post by Evenflo Feeding. All opinions are my own.

A girl and her breast pump go together like peanut butter and jelly! When your a breastfeeding mama on the go, who needs to pump, its important to find the right one. With so many options available it can be hard to know what to look for.

Luckily this isn’t my first rodeo.¬†

That is not to say I am an expert. Far from it. The truth is breastfeeding is hard! Real hard! So I am always trying to read and watch as much as I can. When I was pregnant with my second daughter, I happened upon a Facebook Live Q & A Breastfeeding session with TheBabyGuyNYC (Jamie) and Shari Criso.

Knowledge is power!

I gained some helpful insight into the world of breastfeeding just from that first session. Especially as it pertained to pumping. Jamie and Shari were discussing the Evenflo Advanced Double Electric Breast Pump. Immediately I was impressed by some of the features. So, I was pleased to learn I would have the opportunity to review one.

Evenflo Advanced Double Electric Pump : My favorite features…

1. Battery Operated

The Evenflo Breast Pump arrived just a few days before our week of road trips. So, with the busyness of packing, I opted to open the pump after our trips. Mistake.¬†What I didn’t realize at the time was that the Evenflo pump has the ability to run on batteries. This would have saved me the headache of trying to figure out how and when I was going to be able to pump. During our trips I was at the mercy of the outlet. Bringing a pump with battery capabilities would have allowed me the freedom to pump whenever, wherever I needed.

2.  Bottle Holders

The pump unit has two cut outs to hold the bottles. This may seem insignificant, but trust me when I say it’s not. I don’t know how many times I have lost that precious liquid gold I worked so hard to pump because the bottles tipped over while I was attempting to unhook everything. Evenflo makes it so easy! Once I finish pumping they go right in the bottle holders!

dsc_0512

3. Flanges

My midwife explained the use of flanges and how they might make my pumping journey more successful this time.  Breast pumps are not a one size fits all. Using the correct size flanges while pumping can maximize the amount of milk extracted from the breast, while making it a more comfortable experience. Evenflo created this pump with nursing mothers in mind, as they include two sets of flanges with their pump.

4. Closed Pump

Evenflo is a closed pump. A closed pump means there is a barrier between the pumps motor and milk. Thus decreasing the risk of mold and bacteria within your pump, making it more hygiene friendly.

5. Suction and Speed

Before using the Evenflo pump, I was only able to adjust both settings using one dial. Evenflo makes it better. While pumping I am able to control the speed and suction separately, customizing my pump experience each time.

6. Free Breastfeeding Class

Included with your pump is the option to watch two videos – “Simply Breastfeeding” and “Breast Pumps and Briefcases.” As a mom, the more I can learn the better. So, I find it wonderful that Evenflo has included some helpful videos to make the process easier.

What features do you look for in a breast pump?

{Audrey’s Bear} : Personalized Swaddle Blanket

dsc_0445 ¬†*This is a sponsored post by Audrey’s Bear. All¬†opinions are my own.

When I found out I was expecting another girl, I was elated to say the least! Being blessed with the opportunity to pull out all those tubs of adorable, frilly clothes again, made me want to burst at the seams! I was just that excited!

There was one thing weighing on my mind… Individuality.

As silly as it may sound, I didn’t want baby girl #2 to feel she was constantly living in her big sisters shadow. Only being given what her sister once used. Instead, I wanted her to know and feel we saw her as an individual right from the beginning.

So, I began my search for a few practical and reasonably priced baby items that she would be able to call her own.

{Audrey’s Bear}

When I learned I would have the opportunity to collaborate with this company I was beyond excited! Audrey’s Bear gifted my newborn babe one of their beautiful, personalized swaddle blankets.

dsc_0458

Audrey’s Bear gives customers an array of customizable options. Once I chose my design (Multicolored Arrows), I was literally able to custom every. single. aspect. Something I have yet to find anywhere else! ¬†I was able to select the color of the swaddle, two different colors for her name, the font style, and a different color for each of the four arrows.¬†The company then sends a proof via email for you to approve before your swaddle is printed. This company has excellent customer service and they make the process so easy!

dsc_0480

Magical Sleeping Powers!

I cannot get enough of this swaddle! Seriously, I wish I had a dozen of these! Audrey’s Bear designed this light-weight, soft, stretchy fabric with baby’s in mind!¬†The first time I used it, she was tired and cranky. I thought I would never get her to sleep. Then I remembered the swaddle and thought, why not!? So I wrapped up my sweet babe and WALA! She fell fast asleep! So, now I use it all the time and I don’t leave home without it!

dsc_0476dsc_0478

I love how this is not only a great, practical baby item for parents to purchase, but also a lovely keepsake!

Giving Back

I love working with companies that give back and Audrey’s Bear is no exception! They created a program called, {swaddle4swaddle}. Each time a customer purchases one of their lovely swaddles they will donate one to a baby in either the NICU or Pediatric Cancer Center. As a mom, it warms my heart to see companies like Audrey’s Bear giving back in order to make someones day a little brighter!

What are your go-to keepsake items for baby? Do you have a few for each child, showcasing their individuality?

Freshly Picked + Milestones

*This is a sponsored post by Freshly Picked. All opinions are my own.

dsc_0290

The last few weeks have been pretty busy around our house lately, as we count down these last few days of summer…

First, we had two road trips planned that were practically back to back with only a few days rest in-between. Which really didn’t provide much rest with a newborn in the house.

It’s amazing how such a tiny human can accumulate so much stuff! I mean packing for two children plus yourself is hard enough, but when one of those children is a newborn, it’s pure exhaustion. You practically have to pack up your entire house! Or at least that’s how it feels anyway, especially when your toddler is running laps around you. At one point I felt like I was in the scene from “Home Alone” where the McCallister family overslept and were running around like crazy trying to get ready and leave.

The following week was filled with so much emotion for this mama, that although there was no packing involved it felt equally as taxing. Our oldest began her first year of preschool and our baby turned one month old… I am the sappy mama who struggles with these beautiful changes. It hit me like a ton of bricks, especially as we were working on changing our daily schedule/routine to fit these new milestones. Somehow I blinked and I became a Mom of a preschooler‚Ķ Somehow I blinked and a month has gone by since our baby girl was born‚Ķ

Time never stops moving

Between the road trips and milestones, I feel like we are constantly on the move. It’s as though I am in a constant battle with “time”, trying to slow it down and soak it up all at once. Half the time I feel as though I am just trying to stay caught up and not let everything pass me by.

So, as a busy mama of two little girls, I am always looking for stylish products that make my life a little easier. Insert {Freshly Picked}. When I learned I would have the opportunity to work with this amazing company created by Susan Petersen, I practically fell out of my chair! I was thrilled to review their carefully hand crafted moccs for my girls!

dsc_0291

I love companies created by moms for moms! Susan Petersen, the mastermind behind {Freshly Picked}, is one of those amazing moms. She literally built her business from the ground up with her own two hands. Spending an entire summer banging the glass out of windows, so she could take the aluminum window frames to the scrap yard. Earning $200 to begin her business venture, making quality, stylish moccasins for babies everywhere!

A {Freshly Picked} Love Affair

Why do I love Freshly Picked?

1. These moccasins stay on my newborns feet! With our oldest daughter, nothing drove me crazier than socks and shoes constantly falling off her feet! It was for this reason that I quit putting shoes on her all together. My own mother constantly voiced her concern that my daughter might become ill because I stopped putting shoes on her. So during the winter months we had to stick with footy pajamas and thick blankets. For a mama who enjoys styling her baby, this was so difficult for me! This time around I don’t have to worry about any of that! These moccs stay securely on her little feet without me having to constantly fuss with them! So come winter, her feet will stay nice and warm and I won’t have to pack away all those stylish outfits in place of footy pajamas.

dsc_0345 dsc_0337 dsc_0341

2. My toddler can put these on herself! In the current phase of, “I can do it myself!”, these moccs make my life so much easier. My girl loves shoes and putting them on by herself. Which, as any mom can tell you, can slow down the process of getting out the door on time. Especially when my girl is still learning left from right. Luckily, Freshly Picked moccasins do not have a designated right and left shoe. So she can’t go wrong no matter how she puts them on!

dsc_0301-2dsc_0312

3. Style! One of the most enjoyable aspects of having two little girls is getting to dress them! As my friends can tell you, I love to make sure¬†they are decked out from head to toe, with outfits that match their shoes and hair accessories. With all the nostalgia I have been feeling from these current milestones, I knew I had to pair my toddlers Heirloom in Blush and Gold moccs with this “Never Grow Up” t-shirt and gold dot leggings. For my newborn, I love a cute one piece outfit that captures these ever fleeting days of summer with her Heirloom Cream and Gold moccs.

dsc_0321

dsc_0338

4. Quality! These beautiful moccasins were handcrafted with quality in mind! Not only do these moccasins stay on my girls feet, but they also withstand my energetic toddler. They are truly a perfect addition for her busy feet!

dsc_0312dsc_0343

5. My toddler loves them and so does this mama!

dsc_0292dsc_0298

Can’t find a pair of shoes to stay on your newborns feet? Need a pair of shoes to foster your toddlers “can do” attitude, while making it out the door on time? Then I definitely recommend Freshly Picked Moccasins!
